Meeting other Mums
One of the key reasons for MAMA's existence is to put new mums and those who have moved to a new area in touch with other mums. We do this in two ways either through local groups or in areas where there are no groups with other individual mums.

Local groups
MAMA has 15 local groups throughout the United Kingdom. Many groups meet at regular coffee mornings in each other's homes. As the size of the group grows, meetings often move to a central venue such as a church hall, community centre or local clinic. Groups arrange activities to suit the needs of their members. Examples include a mum's night out, talks by health professionals, product demonstrations, bring and buy sales, baby sitting circles and family outings.
We currently have groups in:-

If you would like more information about joining one of these groups, please email The National Co-Ordinator, and we will contact you.
Where there is no Group
We also hear from numerous mums who live in areas where there is no MAMA group. Where these mums have specifically asked to be put in touch with other mums we retain their details on our database and put other mums in touch with them as they in turn contact us. Please email The National Co-Ordinator to submit your details to us.

Starting a MAMA Group
There is always a need for new groups. MAMA has produced a starter pack providing useful tips on starting up a group. Our staff and voluntary Management Committee (made up of our members and elected at the annual general meeting) are on hand to offer advice and support on how to attract members, raise funds, manage the finances and support mums with postnatal illness.
To see what is involved in starting a group please e-mail The National Co-Ordinator .
